About

In my professional life, I started installing telephone system for a major manufacturer that had me traveling across the United States to China, Nigeria and Bermuda. Eventually I wound up in Florida where I met the wonderful women who would become my wife, she lived in Vancouver, Canada so, I immigrated. We now live in Vancouver, Canada.

Like most in the model railroading hobby, I have been interested in trains and railroads since I was a kid. In my last year of high school, I was lucky enough to take a solid-state electronics course which exposed me to computer programming. Over the years I taught myself computer programming and I have added to my electronics education.

I love big equipment! The 8500 “Big Blow” Turbines and “Big Boys” locomotives of the UP are what I would love to run if I had the space. Probably the transition era between Cheyenne, WO and Salt Lake City, UT. However, I have come to realize that is not the space I will have. I have therefore decided to create a small switching layout that will keep me interested. While this will not allow me to run the equipment I love and have, it will allow me to run some trains and indulge in a recently developed fondness for switching and operations.

I have been an armchair modeller for way too many years. It stops in June 2020.
